America's team finally has the monkey's wrench taken off of its back. This was done with their first playoff win in just about 2 decades against their division rival Philadelphia Eagles in the new Dallas stadium. It was a sharp contrast to their first game in the new stadium this year when they lost to the New York Giants in the new stadium opener with over 100,000 fans watching the upset. But surely the Dallas Cowboys are for real this year, and it doesn't seem to be a fluke at all. The Dallas quarterback Tony Romo is at the peak of his game, and he proved that the Dallas Cowboys are still America's team and are in top form. In the first of two prior weeks, the last two games of the regular season, the Dallas Cowboys whitewashed the undefeated New Orleans Saints, and took out their division rivals in the last day of the regular season. They blanked out the Philadelphia Eagles. By doing so, the Cowboys earned the right to play their first playoff game is several years against the team they just beat, the Philadelphia Eagles. The playoff game today was no whitewash, as the Philadelphia Eagles scored two touchdowns, but it was evident to all that they were no match against the Cowboys. They could not keep the Dallas offense off of the field, and when they did they were no match as far as offensive scoring. Dallas was never behind in the playoff game and proved once again that they are for real this year.
The owner of the Cowboys, Jerry Jones finally has something great to talk about. His team has finally vindicated itself as one of the top teams in professional football this year.
So what is next? It appears that next week the Cowboys have earned the right to play the Minnesota Vikings at Minnesota. It looks like no one can beat them, so you may think that it would be an easy win. But if you haven't been following the Vikings this year, you may not know that they have acquired a quarterback from the Green Bay Packers, Brett Farve. Yes, the on and only most veteran quarterback will be playing his first playoff game with his new team, and knowing Brett, he will have is offense prepared for a very high scoring game. The defense of the Vikings can either make or break the game for them next week. The Dallas Cowboys will be prepared, but so will the Minnesota Vikings, which will prove to be a very popular game to watch next week On January 17, 2010.
So what are they playing for? Obviously for the right to play in the Miami Dolphins stadium, the home of Superbowl 44 on February 7, 2010. As far as my picks for Superbowl 44, I would believe now that the Indianapolis Colts will play against the Dallas Cowboys in Miami this year. As far as the outcome, it would be definitely hard to pick this one, so I'm not going to.
