Windows 7, now officially out with 32 and 64 bit editions, will try to bring back the profits to Microsoft after the quarter ended in September 2009, with stocks down by 14% than the same period the previous year. You can bet there will be a big push to sell Windows 7 this holiday season. Microsoft has high hopes that Windows 7 can improve its financial condition. Microsoft's total revenues recorded in that period amounted to U.S. $ 12.92 billion. The decline in income also affect the profit plummeted 18 percent. Microsoft was disappointed in the decline of profits but they still feel satisfied with their financial performance. Microsoft suddenly finds themselves in competition with other platforms, such as APPLE and Linux, because they have the ability now to run Windows based programs, and seem to run a considerable faster speeds, use less memory and overall more efficient in operations. However, Windows is still king and continues to produce software to keep on top in the marketplace.
