H1N1 - Time to get Serious with Flu Vaccinations

Within the last couple of weeks, my wife and I decided it was definitely time to get the annual flu vaccine. This year as most everyone in the modern world knows is another strain of virus, which requires a special shot to control. Known as the H1N1, just the thought of it is scary. So far, a few thousand people have died from acquiring this virus. It has been documented that the virus puts pregnant women at high risk of catching the virus, and can easily put the non-conceived child in a compromised situation, introducing it to a virus that can kill the fetus or the mother fairly easily.
One can only speculate as to why a vaccine for this H1N1 killer has not been delivered on a national basis for everyone to use. To put it quite simply, only the ones that are high risk can get the vaccine at the present time. The regular flu virus vaccine takes about three weeks to become effective and begin to do its job.
Luckily, my wife Virginia and I have been fairly healthy lately, and show no signs of the regular flu bug. We both had acquired our virus shot prior to the cold season rolling in. The cost for the H1N1 is $28, or at least that is what I would have had to pay if my insurance did not cover the bill. Maybe your insurance covers it. One thing is for sure, all insurance companies will be covering the H1N1 vaccine by the time it finally arrives in full force. My advise to all readers of this blog would be to not procrastinate any longer and do what it takes to keep the flu bug away.
